Model Engineers, "South Durham Society of Model Engineers"
We are running our trains on Sunday from 10am until 12.30 or possibly longer. There is an event taking place in The Grange which may impact on how long we stay.
We are going to bring out our garden railway if we have enough small engines and enough members present.
Please come along to support us at The Grange Community Centre from 10am until 12.30.
At a recent meeting, we decided that although we have been using our rather long name (South Durham Society of Model Engineers) for more than 50 years, people have a tendency to not remember it or even the abbreviated form (SDSME).
We will therefore start using our station name to make things a bit easier, so we will be using "Hurworth Halt" a bit more in our messages.
We are not actually changing the name of the club at this time due to clerical and advertising issues , but who Knows?
Hi folks, we are not running at Hurworth this weekend but we are running our portable track at Shildon Locomotion Museum on both Saturday and Sunday, 28th/29th between 10 and 4.
Please check their site before you arrive in case you need to book in as I'm not sure what their policy is at the moment.
We will have an electric and a steam engine on the track.
If you were near the track yesterday afternoon you would have seen our trains. Sorry if you couldn't get a ride but it was a planned wedding reception event.
We are back out at The Grange Community Centre again today from 10am until 12.30 and we have half of our force at an event at Middleton St, George cricket club from 10 until 3 with our portable track.
We are hoping to have both electric and steam engines at both events so come along and have a ride or a chat.![]()
